Ahoj, seja bem vindo!

My name is Iva, and I come from Slovakia. Since I started dancing in a folk ensemble, performing at various festivals in Europe, I have grown thirsty to see the world. After years of living, studying, tour guiding, and interpreting in China, Asia, and Europe, I fell in love with a handsome Brazilian, Danilo, adopted a Hungarian dog named Tofu, and gave life to the funniest son, Tomas.

After the old world changed due to Covid and the War in Ukraine, we needed a restart and moved to the beautiful coastal city called Caraguatatuba in São Paulo state, Brazil.

"Mama in Brazil" is a project aimed at providing more information about living in Brazil - from daily life, unique experiences, cultural encounters, personal growth gained by immersing oneself in the vibrant tapestry of Brazilian life and also travelling around this beautiful country.

Ivana Prevides, as her last name suggests, married Danilo, a Brazilian. That is why she spent September and October in the seaside town of Carguatatuba, 155 km from the agglomeration of Sao Paolo. In addition to beaches and waves, she got to know the ordinary life of the local people and also experienced, unfortunately, a funeral, which has different rules than here in Slovakia.

New episodes of Cestou necestou are here and we prepared one part in Caraguatuba and its surroundings! Mama in Brazil dug cassava potatoes, I was bitten by ants, I almost suffocated while roasting flour, we roped down the smelly and sticky breadfruit, danced samba, caught mussels and indulged in the shamanic atmosphere.
